Brown Butter Peanut Butter Crispy Rice Treats

I love sending mail and packages, but am always worried about what state the sent food is going to be in once it arrives at the final destination. 

These treats are solid, and are able to survive in the mail (and most importantly, they taste amazing! You'll never want to have a regular and plain one of these ever again).



First, gather your ingredients. There's only 6!

Start by browning your butter. 

Then, add your marshmallows, peanut butter, and salt; then, add your cereal. 

After your mixture is ready, place in a buttered 8 x 8 pan and allow to cool completely. 

After they have cooled, cut into bars and enjoy! Or, send some off to your brother for his birthday.

Brown Butter Peanut Butter Crispy Rice Treats
makes 1 8-inch pan
from the Joy the Baker Cookbook

Ingredients:
1/2 cup unsalted butter
10 ounces marshmallows
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1/4 teaspoon salt
6 cups crispy rice cereal

Directions:
Butter a 8 x 8-inch pan. Set aside.
Brown the butter over medium heat in a large pot. Once browned, immediately add the marshmallows, peanut butter, and salt. Stir until smooth and all the ingredients are melted and combined. Then, remove from heat and fold in the rice cereal. Place mixture in the prepared pan and allow to cool at least 30 minutes before cutting.
Wrap treats individually with plastic wrap.
