Pumpkin Pie Spice

Before Thanksgiving cooking and baking descends upon us, I wanted to throw in this DIY Pumpkin Pie Spice for any recipes that may involve the ingredient this week.

We had a super suspicious looking tiny container of pumpkin pie spice in our spice drawer, so homemade was in order. It takes pretty much no time to measure and combine the spices, and it's so much better than an old plastic thing of spices from who knows when.

It also gives you a use for an old spice jar once you're ready to store the spices!

Pumpkin Pie Spice
from Joy the Baker
makes about 2 tablespoons

Ingredients:
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons ground ginger
1/2 teaspoons ground cloves
1/2 teaspoons ground allspice
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
scant 1/8 teaspoon cardamom

Directions:
Stir together all spices and store in an airtight container.

  4. Thanks! Me too! Jessica's measuring spoons sneaked into my bag the last time I was there, so I'll need to drop something off with them when she and Stuart get back and give them back to her! :)
